From its humble beginnings in January 2004, AMB Côte d’Azur has quickly grown into a much respected and appreciated website. As a mark of our personal dedication and intent on offering a public service to Anglophones around the world, we decided to make AMB Côte d’Azur a non-profit association (ASBL) in July that same year. 

AMB Côte d’Azur was created by husband and wife team, Alice and Nigel Barker. Using Nigel’s extensive technical computer background and Alice’s desktop publishing skills, the website became the natural vehicle to share their combined love and interest of this beautiful region of France. 

Interest in writing for AMB Côte d’Azur attracted a number of contributors and we’re very proud to have them on board and part of our team. They too enjoy living and working in, as well as visiting the South of France and have greatly enriched the website by sharing their discoveries, stories and thoughts about this region.

The website’s aim is to be your internet companion and guide to the French Riviera and parts of the South of France, and sometimes a little further afield, whether you want to work, retire or holiday here. You’ll find personal and comprehensive accounts on towns, events and festivals, as well as a blog, interviews, recipes, reviews on books about the region and extensive web links. "Living in France" contains in-depth articles covering a variety of topics to make your transition to the South of France an easy and happy one. 

Treated very much like a magazine, new features and articles are added and updated on a regular basis.  A search engine and archive retrieval system allows the reader to quickly and easily browse the website.

The website is an entirely non-commercial venture and solely financed by us. We receive no outside funding. In such a commercialized world, many find this fact quite astonishing. We believe our website and its contents should be freely accessible to everyone and this will always remain our primary objective. 

We continue to discover other and ever changing aspects about the French Riviera and the beautiful regions adjacent to them and we shall continue to share our discoveries with you and hope that you enjoy reading about the Côte d’Azur and viewing our photos, as much as we enjoy sharing everything with you.
