ImageNow that the new AMB Cote d’Azur is up and running, a moment of calm has managed to squeeze back into our busy days.  We cracked open a bottle of Champagne when the new website was at long last transferred on to our UK server; nine months of hard toil was over and “the baby” was finally there. There were lots of things to celebrate: the website of course, but also our new kittens, life in general and the rather excellent web statistic we had last month which were the highest on record.

Web statistics are great things and we’ve being using them since day one. Having had such a fabulous result last month and with the new website just starting we thought we’d find a better, more analytical web statistic program – so we did and then had a bit of a shock.  It appeared that 30% of hits were for our Ratatouille Niçoise recipe. Gosh, we thought how odd, but then we thought its summer, and people perhaps want something light to eat.  The hits kept coming – we were delighted!

Finding time to escape the last minute touches to the website Nigel and I drove over to Auchan, one of our favourite supermarkets. Walking past their DVD counter we discovered “Ratatouille” plastered everywhere. The penny dropped – people were Googling to find out more information about this animated film – and happened to discover us. We fell about laughing.

After weeks of blistering sunshine, today it’s raining and somewhat chilly so a good day to stay indoors – maybe even watch a film. I’ve heard there’s a good one about a French rat who wants to become a great chef . . . now what’s its name again?
