Provence-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur, frequently referred to by its initials, "PACA", is situated in south-eastern France. Its surface area of 31,400 sq km puts its third amongst the 22 French regions. The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Hautes-Alpes, the Alpes-Maritimes, the Bouches-du-Rhônes, the Var and the Vauclause are its six départements.
